We want to ensure our final act to them is

respectful and dignified

Water Cremation, a form of pet cremation, is also known as Alkaline Hydrolysis. It is a more gentle, respectful, and environmentally friendly alternative to Pet Aftercare.

Many Australian pet owners haven’t heard of Water Cremation as it has only become available to the public in the last few years. It was first offered in the Aftercare Industry in 2011 and has been widely adopted in the US, Canada, the UK and South Africa. However, the concept of Alkaline Hydrolysis was developed and patented back in 1888.

Water Cremation mimics what takes place in nature, where the body is reduced to its essential elements. As the process is quite tender to the body and final remains, families will receive 20-30% more returned to them, compared to traditional flame pet cremation. These remains are 100% clean, sterile, pathogen and disease-free, allowing them to be kept or returned to the earth with no harmful impact.

We understand that the thought of any aftercare service can be unsettling for some, but respect those who wish to be more familiar with Water Cremation. If you would like to read a more detailed explanation of the process, please click here.

Upon request of our service, pets will be collected by Blue Leaf, from either their home or vet, in the Perth area. We do request that deliveries to the facility be made by appointment only. This is to ensure that all our clients receive the utmost attention, respect and privacy they require whilst at our facility.

Details of both the pet and owner and recorded into our tracking system. Pets are issued with their own individually numbered stainless steel tracking ID disc. This ID disc stays with them throughout the entire process, even during the Water Cremation, and is returned to the owner, inside the urn.

Each pet is electronically tracked, and their ID disc checked at every stage of the process, ensuring a full chain of custody and accountability is recorded.
